Selkirk Lodge Trip Information

Getting to Revelstoke, BC    We will meet at the Hillcrest Resort Hotel in Revelstoke, BC at 1:30 pm Pacific Time. Revelstoke is 5 1⁄2 hours west of Calgary on the Trans Canada Highway.

Calgary is the closest international airport with frequent service and it is a 5 1/2 hour drive away.  You can also fly into Kelowna, BC, which is a 2 1⁄2 hour drive from Revelstoke.

Often the simplest option is often to rent a car in Calgary or Kelowna, especially if you are traveling with 2 or more people.  If you would like to carpool with others in your group, please contact us or call us at (403) 678-0929 for an email list for your group.

If a large contingent of your group is arriving by air to Calgary, AB, we can help you arrange ground transportation from Calgary to Revelstoke. This works best if everybody stays at the same hotel, or meets at the same hotel in Calgary. If you would like to look in to this option, please contact us or call us at (403) 678-0929.

Drivers should meet at the Selkirk Tangiers office at the Hillcrest Resort Hotel at 1:30 pm, Pacific Time, Saturday, to sign waivers.  Please ensure that you have received copies of the waivers via email so that you can read them prior to signing them. You do not need to print copies of the waivers, we will have copies available to sign at the hotel.  Have your ski gear on and your luggage ready to go.  We will load everything into vans and you will be driven to the helipad from here, approx. 35 kms east of Revelstoke. There is parking at the Hillcrest for your vehicles.

Flying in to Selkirk Lodge    At the staging area you will have a short safety briefing about the helicopter, then the flights will begin.

Luggage    Space is limited on the helicopter. Please limit your luggage to 30lbs. If you have a large ski bag we might have to unpack it to fit everything in the ski basket. The ski bags can be left at the hotel until the end of the trip. Small bags are better than large ones because they are easier to pack in the helicopter. Do not bring suitcases or duffel bags with a built in rigid frame.

Alcohol    There is no liquor license at the lodge. Please bring your own liquor for the week. The liquor store is a long way away from the lodge so be sure you bring enough.  However, please bring canned beer as it is lighter than bottled beer.

The end of the trip    You should be back at the Hillcrest the following Saturday at 4:00 pm Pacific Time. This is weather dependent. It is possible to get stuck at Selkirk Lodge due to poor weather.
