- Rain gear: waterproof jacket with hood & waterproof
- Pants
- Extra socks: 3 pairs
- Wind shell: jacket and pants
- Short sleeved moisture wicking shirt
- Small day pack
- Long sleeved moisture wicking shirt
- Water bottle or thermos
- Warm pile jacket (fleece)
- Sunglasses, sunscreen cream
- Hiking boots: leather with good support are preferable
- Flashlight: small with extra batteries (for night use)
- Hut shoes: slippers or sandals
- Insect repellent
- Gaiters (optional but useful)
- Camera and battery charger
- Warm hat and sun hat
- Pocket knife
- Gloves, lightweight wool or fleece
- Personal toiletries kit
- Moleskin or second skin
- Personal medications
Expect to encounter a wide variety of weather conditions (often within the same day) and select clothing that can be layered accordingly.
