Wilderness Backpacking Tours

Booking InformationEquipment List

Wildtrips has been offering wilderness backpacking trips since 1997. Our focus is on itineraries which offer exceptional wilderness experiences.  We prefer places that are off the beaten path.  But, we also offer interpretive hikes on some of the most scenic trails in our areas.

When off the beaten path, we look for areas with few established trails that are easily accessed on game trails, through alpine meadows, along ridges and over spectacular mountain passes. We avoid excessive rugged terrain and concentrate on wilderness that is made for backpacking, but that is not busy with other hikers.  These trips can be fully catered and outfitted. We serve tasty camp meals which are home cooked, then dehydrated. It is not your typical camp cooking, instead, it is light, nutritious and hard to resist. Think gourmet rather than canned tuna and macaroni. If you would like to join us on a trip but lack camping gear, we have a full range of equipment for you including tents, sleeping pads, sleeping bags, and backpacks. We also supply all of the camp kitchen equipment and cook all the meals.  If you are wondering about the amount of weight you will have to carry on a backpacking trip, we keep this to a minimum by arranging for supplies to be delivered to us during our trips. You generally will be carrying around 40 pounds.

For day trips we offer guided interpretive trips and can help reassure you for the best hikes for your group, with safety kept at the forefront and fun of course.
